DiabiPets Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the mobile application DiabiPets ("App", "we", "us") collects, uses, and stores information. By using the App, you agree to this Policy.

Important: DiabiPets is not a medical device, does not provide medical advice, and is intended solely as a personal log for pet diabetes management.

1. User Responsibility

By using DiabiPets, you acknowledge and agree that all actions, decisions, and data entries in the App are solely your responsibility. The developer does not provide veterinary advice and is not responsible for any consequences resulting from your use of the App, including pet health, insulin administration, or feeding decisions.

2. General Information

DiabiPets is an informational diary for owners of dogs and cats with diabetes. The App is not intended for diagnosis, treatment, or veterinary decision-making. The developer ("we") does not provide veterinary or medical advice and is not responsible for any user decisions or actions related to their pets' diabetes.

3. Explicit Consent / Age Verification

By using this App, you confirm that you are at least 16 years old and that you agree to this Privacy Policy and all associated terms of use. If you do not meet these criteria, you should not use the App.

4. Information We Collect

4.1. User-entered data

The App collects information that users enter manually:

Pet information (name, type, breed, age, etc.)
Glucose levels and notes
Insulin injections (type, dosage, notes)
Meals (type, amount, notes)
Other user notes related to pet health

No automatic medical or biometric data collection occurs.

4.2. Local storage

All data is stored locally on the user's device by default.

4.3. Cloud synchronization (PREMIUM)

If cloud sync is enabled, data is stored in Firebase, associated with the user's Google account. We:

do not store data on our own servers
do not access the content of user records
do not share data with third parties, except for Firebase services required for synchronization

4.4. Technical data

The App may collect anonymized technical information:

device type
OS version
crash reports
usage statistics

This data is used only to improve the App and fix errors.

5. How We Use Data

User-entered data is used solely for:

displaying diary entries
generating charts and statistics
creating local reminders
generating PDF reports (PREMIUM)
cloud synchronization via Firebase (PREMIUM)

The App does not analyze medical data, provide diagnoses, or recommend treatments.

6. Reminders

The App creates local push notifications for reminders.

We do not guarantee accuracy, timeliness, or delivery of notifications, as they depend on:

device operating system behavior
battery and background activity settings
notification permissions
network or system conditions

Users are responsible for monitoring glucose levels, insulin injections, and feeding schedules.

7. Medical Disclaimer

DiabiPets is not a medical or veterinary application. It:

does not provide treatment recommendations
does not determine insulin dosages
does not analyze pet health
is not a substitute for veterinary care

All information is user-generated and for informational purposes only.

Always consult a licensed veterinarian for any medical decisions.

8. Limitation of Liability

We are not responsible for:

incorrect user-entered data
consequences of using the App
errors, delays, or missed notifications
any medical complications or harm to pets
decisions made based on App data
data loss due to app deletion, device issues, or sync errors

By using the App, users acknowledge that they use it at their own risk.

9. No Warranty

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee:

data accuracy
uninterrupted operation
correctness of charts or statistics
availability of cloud sync services

10. Third-Party Services

The App uses third-party services, including Firebase for cloud synchronization and optional analytics services. These services are governed by their own privacy policies. We encourage users to review the privacy policies of all third-party services used in the App.

11. Data Deletion Instructions

Premium users can delete their account and all associated data via the "Delete Account" button located at the bottom of the settings screen in the App. This action will:

remove all locally stored data on the device
remove all cloud data stored in Firebase

Please note that once deleted, this data cannot be recovered.

12. Advertising

Free version may display ads. Premium version removes all advertising.

13. Paid Features

Premium features are available through in-app purchases. We do not store payment information; all payments are processed via Google Play or App Store.

14. User Rights

Users may:

delete their account and all associated data via the Delete Account button
delete the App
request deletion of cloud data from Firebase

15. Children

The App is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

16. International Compliance

We aim to comply with international privacy regulations, including GDPR (EU) and CCPA (California, USA), where applicable. Users can request deletion of personal data by contacting support.

17. Policy Updates

We may update this Policy periodically. Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of any changes.
